“James Whatley is SpinVox’s Social and Digital Specialist, an avid blogger in his own right via Whatleydude.com, and a regular contributor to leading mobile news site, Mobile Industry Review.
During his time at SpinVox, James has been involved in numerous projects including; ‘The Future of Voice’, ‘Stand By What You Say’ and most recently, the ‘SpinVox Wishing Well’.
James helped to develop the concept for the ‘Social Networks through SpinVox’ service, which was a finalist at the 2007 Media Guardian Awards, as well as facilitating SpinVox’s integration with Ping.fm.
Prior to joining SpinVox, he was Customer Champion and one of the founding members of Mippin (formerly Refresh Mobile). Throughout his time there James played a major role in defining & refining the user experience for mobile consumers. James also helped to secure the prestigious ‘Nokia Pro Developer of the Year’ award for Refresh in 2006.
Passionate for all things social, including tools, media, networks & objects, James is a frequent speaker at conferences and events. In the past year this has included compeering and taking part in Carsonified’s Future of Mobile conference, speaking to the London Technology Network at Next Generation Web, and a keynote speech at Nokia OpenLab in Helsinki.
James is a regular guest on a number of podcasts and was invited onto BBC Radio 4’s ‘Today Programme’ to talk about the business applications of blogging in early 2008, and again onto BBC Radio 5 for their ‘Pods and Blogs’ show late last year.
2009 sees James use his industry expertise to become inspiration and key advisor to Dabr, a 3rd party mobile web interface to Twitter, as well as a number of other projects.”
